Photos from a trip to New York in June, 2004
Chinatown and Little Italy
I am not sure of the borders of Chinatown and Little Italy. They are both located in lower Manhattan in the vicinity of Canal Street, with the main part of Little Italy centered around Mulberry Street.

The street going left to right in this photo is Canal Street. The street straight ahead is Mulberry Street and it is loaded with Italian restaurants and a couple of bakeries.
They had Mulberry Street mostly closed off to auto traffic. It was only open for traffic to a parking lot up the street.
You will probably be overwhelmed by the shear number of restaurants, with their menus posted and their people trying to lure you into their establishments. Don't worry too much, just about any place you try will be great. Do check the prices carefully, though, some of them can be quite high.

As you can see from this photo there is a little of the China Town influence here also. Notice the oriental lettering on some of the signs.
