Photo of the Week (POW)
Week 49 - ForeignThe Theme for this week is "Foreign".
Selected by TheCowGod
You don't have to take it literally. I.e. not just pictures of other countries, though of course that is welcome - I want to see anything that you as the photographer don't come into contact with regularly. Maybe that means venturing out into a part of the city you've never been to before, or even experimenting with equipment or techniques you've never used before. Basically, I want you to explore new things and show me what you find. A few sentences to describe how the picture fits in with the spirit of the assignment to you would be very cool.

In Brighton, England, there is an area of
ancient narrow streets too narrow for cars.
It is called The Lanes, and has a lot of shops and restaurants,
and unexpected squares that you come upon as you turn the corners.
This is the main piazza on the island of
Burano, in the Venice lagoon, in Italy.
Here you can find some fine lace
that is made by local artisans.
This is a small piazza in the town of Lugano, Switzerland.
This is in an area of Switzerland which was owned by
Italy for a long time, hence the term piazza for this area.
You can find some fine chocolates, watches and other stuff here.
