Some of the Sights in London

Harrods Department Store

One place you shouldn't miss in London is Harrods in Knightsbridge. It is a store unlike any that I know of. There are some that pretend to be like it, but none that I have been to come even close. One of the best parts is the basement food area. I cannot describe it effectively, you've just go to go there and see it for yourself.

The Tower of London

These are all of the photos I have found for one of the best sights to see in London - the Tower of London.

No that's not London Bridge on the right, it is Tower Bridge. London Bridge is just a plain old bridge.

The London Dungeon

Across the river from the Tower of London, upriver to the London Bridge, is a place called the London dungeon. It is an old building, probably an old factory, that has been converted into a display of the various dungeons, prisons, execution and torture procedures throughout history. I believe it is well worth the time to visit. The last time I was there, they also had included a section devoted to Jack the Ripper.

Statue of Boudicca

The Queen Chieftan of the Iceni tribe led a revolt against the Romans that lasted for months, destroying and burning Camulodunum (Colchester), Verulamium (St. Albans), and Londinium (London).

This statue is located near the end of the bridge by the Houses of Parliament.

Westminster Abbey

Another fascinating place to visit is Westminster Abbey. Among other things, the place is chuck full of burial places of all types of people: poets, writers, statesmen, royalty, and so on.

Big Ben

Here are a couple of shots of the famous "Big Ben". It is attached to the Houses of Parliament as you can see from the photo on the right. This is all in the same area as Westminster Abbey.
