Saturday Afternoon in Modena
Then we left Borgo Capanne and headed for the town of Modena. If you look at bottles of balsamic vinegar in the grocery store, you will see that most of them say that they are from Modena. I had not done any research about the town of Modena, but I expected to see some evidence of balsamic vinegar. However, we did not see anything of the sort while we were there.
Driving to Modena
Here are some views along the way to Modena.
Exploring Modena
The back of the duomo in Modena and a tower, which I assume was the campanile. You can see how the back of the church was leaning. In this case it was not the tower that was leaning. The tower was straight and the church was leaning.
More views of Modena.
There was a lot of renovation going on here.
It looked like the church was in danger of falling down.
This is the piazza behind the duomo.
There was scaffolding set up here that looked like it was for some kind of show or festival, but nothing was going on while we were there.
We walked through the loggia on the left and found a small cafe where we got some lunch and ate it at some tables set up outside in the piazza..
Now it was time to go on to our hotel in Malpensa.
