The best place to stay in Siena is the Palazzo Ravizza www.palazzoravizza.it/ They have an amazing restaurant. Another great restaurant just repened under new management and is wonderful. I took a friend there and she and I had a pork carpaccio that was to die for. The restaurant is Guidoriccio and is right to the right of the town hall in Piazza del Campo. Via G. I can recommend you this family run restaurant south of Siena; it's called "da Vestro" and it's on the outskirts of Monticiano, near San Galgano Abbey, where you'll probably want to go. The restaurant has great cuisine and it's also a small hotel. see: www.davestro.it
