To celebrate the fall harvest, many local farmers will have a variety of Garlic for sale as well as fresh produce. Farmers will also have honey, jams, preserves and maple syrups. Throughout the day and evening, several favorite local restaurants will be offering free tastes, or serving for purchase, delicious garlic related foods. A host of merchants, artisans, and artists will line the pathways of Olde Mistick Village displaying their foods, crafts, gifts, and talents. Along with nearly fifty vendors, many of the forty Olde Mistick Village merchants will be offering garlic related activities or products at their stores.

The Quintana tournament in Ascoli Piceno, Italy, is a popular manifestation having medieval origins. More than a thousand people in costume parade along the old town streets, knights wearing armour, while the beautiful ladies wear precious dresses designed according to models derived from XIV century paintings. The festival has its climax once the parade has reached its destination, the tournament between the knights on horseback, from the different city boroughs ("sestrieri") starts, and the fight for the Palio begins.
