  Visiting the museum of the Casa Buonarroti arouses, first of all, the emotion of admiration for several early works by Michelangelo contained within its walls. • Historical Museum of the Liberation of Rome
  Via Tasso 145/155, Rome During the German occupation of Rome, the headquarters of the German terror apparatus were located in Via Tasso 145/155. The building contained a prison in which Jews and political opponents were incarcerated and tortured. The Historical Museum of the Liberation has been located in the building since 1957.

The museum's collection is divided into three sections: Archaeology, devoted to the Roman, Visigothic, Moorish and Mudéjar cultures; Fine Arts, with an excellent selection of 16th- and 17th-century paintings from Toledo, and works by such artists as El Greco; and Industrial Arts, with examples of popular culture and traditional local crafts (ceramics, glass, fabrics, wrought iron and precious metalwork).

The Museum is located in one of the most important olive oil cultivating and producing areas in the Mediterranean, the Western Ligurian Riviera at the northern edge of the region where olive trees thrive. Olive groves are plentiful in the Western Riviera from the shoreline to the innermost valleys and the highest altitudes at which the tree can flower; they occupy literally every corner, every patch of earth, even the most inaccessible, thanks to the narrow terraced strips of land built over centuries along the sides of the hills.
• Museo dell'Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore
  Museum behind the duomo in Florence (Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore) that houses original sculptures, etc., from the basilica to protect them from the elements. These artworks have been replaced by copies. This includes the doors of the baptistery by Ghiberti, known as the "Doors of Paradise." The Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore is a lay institution founded by the Republic of Florence in 1296 to superintend the construction of the new Cathedral and its bell tower. As of 1436, the year in which Brunelleschi's dome was completed and the church was consecrated, the principal task of the Opera became that of conserving the monumental complex which was joined in 1777 by the Baptistry of San Giovanni and in 1891 by the Museum founded to house the works of art which, in the course of centuries, had been removed from the Duomo and the Baptistry. Today, in as much as a "works commission", the Opera is subject to the 1929 Concordat and, as such, directed by a Council composed of seven members who are appointed every three years with a decree by the Minister of the Interior, and elect one member as President. As of 1998, the Opera has juridically taken the shape of a Socially Useful Non-profit Organization (ONLUS), regulated by its own statute which includes among its institutional purposes, the "protection, promotion and valorization of its artistic patrimony".

• National Building Museum
  When most people think of a museum, they are likely to think of the things exhibited there—paintings, Moon rocks, totem poles, or other objects of artistic, scientific, or cultural value. Of course, the National Building Museum has always offered visitors the chance to see many interesting objects, from drawings by famous architects to a full-scale, sustainable house built in our own galleries. Indeed, the care, interpretation, and thoughtful display of such artifacts are central to our mission. The Museum is, however, much more than a repository of things, beautiful and intriguing though they may be. It is above all a forum for the development, exploration, and exchange of ideas. Created by an act of Congress in 1980, the National Building Museum has become one of the world's most prominent and vital venues for informed, reasoned debate about the built environment and its impact on people's lives.
• National Gallery of Art
  The National Gallery of Art was created in 1937 for the people of the United States of America by a joint resolution of Congress, accepting the gift of financier and art collector Andrew W. Mellon. During the 1920s, Mr. Mellon began collecting with the intention of forming a gallery of art for the nation in Washington. In 1937, the year of his death, he promised his collection to the United States. Funds for the construction of the West Building were provided by The A. W. Mellon Educational and Charitable Trust. On March 17, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt accepted the completed building and the collections on behalf of the people of the United States of America.
• Palazzo Davanzati, the Ancient Florentine Home
  The Palace, built by the Davizzi family around mid-14th century, was purchased in 1578 by the Davanzati family (their coat of arms is still visible on the facade) and remained in their possession until 1838, when it was divided into several flats and suffered severe damage. In 1904 it was purchased and restored by the antique dealer Elia Volpi, who entirely furnished it and opened it to the public in 1910 as Museum of the Old Florentine House. The palace was purchased in 1951 by the State that reorganised it and opened it once more to the public in 1956. The present arrangement of the Museum aims at reconstructing the setting of an old Florentine home, with furniture and household tools from the 14th to the 19th centuries.

• Polo Museale Fiorentino -- The State Museums of Florence
  The Polo Museale Fiorentino is an institution which administers the largest ensemble of art works in Italy. It includes twenty museums varying in importance from the Uffizi Gallery to the Medici Villa of Cerreto Guidi, from the Accademia Gallery to the Cenacolo of Santa Apollonia. It employs over 900 persons (art historians, administrative staff and warders, restorers, photographers, librarians), is responsible for 250 thousand catalogued works of art, and receives over 5 million visitors each year.

• The Reggio Calabria National Museum
  One of the most famous Italian museums, since it encloses several and meaningful witnesses of the Great Greece colonies, raised in Calabria.
